The story behind Okaeri

About me

Okaeri means «Welcome home» in Japanese. A concept that reflects well-being, connection, warmth, and closeness in everything I do.

I am Úrsula Segura, the person behind Okaeri.

I have always understood home as something that goes far beyond a beautiful space. It is that place where everything finds its place, where you can slow down and feel that, at last, you are home.

My professional background has always been closely tied to aesthetics and the way we inhabit and experience spaces. I have worked in decoration and fashion companies, experiences that taught me to pay attention to details, understand styles, and, above all, discover how an environment can influence how we feel.

But there is another part of my story that was even more important for creating Okaeri: I have moved ten times.

I know what it means to start from scratch. Arriving at a new home, organizing it, deciding what you need, what you leave behind, and how to make an unfamiliar space start to feel like your own.

And I also know what it's like to do it while life goes on: work, family, changes, moving boxes, decisions, and a thousand little details to manage.

Over time I understood that many times we don't need more things, but spaces that work better for us. That help us in our daily lives, that make us feel good, and that we can maintain effortlessly.

And I also understood that arriving at a new place can be overwhelming. Especially when you change cities, countries, or start a new phase. Having someone to accompany you, make the process easier, and take care of the details can completely change the experience.

That is where Okaeri is born.

From my professional experience, my own moves, and a very personal way of understanding the home: as a place that should welcome you, make your life easier, and make you feel good.

Por eso Okaeri une organización, decoración, interiorismo, mudanzas y acogida. No se trata solo de ordenar una casa, decorarla o ayudarte a mudarte. Se trata de acompañarte en el proceso y cuidar de cada detalle para que puedas disfrutar de tu espacio y de tu nueva etapa.

Porque para mí, un hogar no es solo donde vivimos. Es donde sentimos que hemos llegado.
